Books You Gotta Read

Where Buddha Meets Business

Zero Limits: The Hawaiian System For Wealth, Health, Peace & More by Joe Vitale & Ihaleakala Hew Len, Ph.D.

Zero Limits is one of those books that go into manifesting abundance, the law of attraction, and a universal consciousness-focused category.

There are so many inspiring ideas and concepts in this book about creating success, manifesting abundance, healing yourself, and more. And it’s not your typical law of attraction book. In fact, this book focuses more on healing old wounds from faulty thinking, trauma, life purpose, how to use your intuition, and more.

Vitale says it best:

“You came into this world with a gift within yourself. You may know it right away or not. You may not even know it right now. At some point, you’ll sense it within you. Now, your mind is going to judge it. If your mind judges it as bad, you’ll seek therapy or methods or drugs or addiction to handle it, hide it, resolve it, release it, or accept it. But once you have removed that interference preventing you from acting on your gift, you’ll act on that gift. In short, you’ll be the puppet of the Divine, but you’ll be the puppeteer of your life. Your choice is to go with Divine flow or not.”

In essence, are you the puppet of your life? Or are you the puppeteer? Interesting concept, right? One of the reasons I picked up this book years ago is because it takes a familiar concept and flips it on its head, giving you and me another way of looking at life. I love when a book/author does that.

I actually asked my AI to give me a quick summary of this book, and here’s what it came up with:

“In the heart of “Zero Limits” is a story so powerful and transcendent that it reaches into the very core of our beings. Vitale takes us on a transformative journey, revealing the ancient Hawaiian practice of Ho’oponopono, a method of healing and self-discovery that, at its core, teaches us the limitless power of taking complete responsibility.

Through the serene wisdom of Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, we’re introduced to a world where problems don’t exist outside of ourselves. The entire universe, with its challenges and wonders, exists within. The mantra of Ho’oponopono – “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.” – is more than just words. It’s a potent affirmation of responsibility, love, forgiveness, and gratitude. Zero Limits is not just a book; it’s an experience.” ~ ChatGPT — Whoah, that’s some heavy-duty writing. I did actually give it a prompt saying it was an award-winning emotionally connected writer, writing a summary about — and I inserted this book title. 🙂

There is another thing to note –– why is the book called “Zero Limits?” Since zero represents a state of infinite possibilities, it means that freedom and potential are boundless. It’s about attaining a mental state of clarity. It’s also about how you can clear mental obstructions, heal past wounds, and align with the rhythm of the Universe. Big stuff, right?

This is definitely one of those reads that will either blow your mind or, at the very least, it introduces you to a whole new path to experience and heal your life. It’s done both for me. Happy reading!

A Book Summary to Inspire You To Read It!

Quick Summary

I think the AI summary above kind of says it all. The only thing I would add here is don’t be afraid of a new way of thinking about your life, how you can heal, and how you’re part of something way beyond your physical self. This is definitely a book about self-discovery and transformation. All the limits you have today are self-imposed from the imprints of your childhood and experiences, good or bad. This is a terrific reminder of how when you clean out your head and your heart, you change your mindset and heart-set, and then you will indeed manifest a life of limitless possibilities.

Who Ought to Read this Book and Why:

If you find yourself struggling or maybe at a crossroads because of a life change such as a death, divorce, or loss of a job, this book will give you a deeper meaning and renewed perspective of your life. If you’re seeking transformation, an awakened approach to life’s experiences, a seeker of personal growth, or a more fulfilling existence, this book could change how you perceive and engage with the world within and around you.

Things You Will Discover:

5 Interesting Concepts

  1. State of Zero – When you’re in a state of zero, you’re free from memories, programs, and beliefs that will hold you back. When you’re in this state, you can access pure potentiality where you will have no limits to what you can achieve.
  2. Taking Responsibility – It’s the concept that everything in your life is a result of your own creation, from your happiness to life challenges. When you take full responsibility, you will empower yourself to change and to heal.
  3. The Power of Ho’oponopono – This is an ancient healing method that centers around the mantra of “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.” In this specific order. When you practice this mantra, it will cleanse your negative energies, beliefs, and memories that will open paths to your healing and transformation.
  4. Aligning With the Universe – When you start clearing your energies and removing your obstacles, you will be aligning yourself with the Universe. You will start to manifest your desires more effortlessly and begin to live in a state of flow, abundance, and peace.
  5. Focus On Self-Healing Through Inner Work – It’s about understanding that most external issues are a reflection of some internal discord. When you start practicing the Ho’oponopono, you will discover how you can heal internally, which will then have an impact on you externally in the world.

Inspiring Book Quotes:

Transform Your Life:
“This is a head-warping, mind-opening, brain-cramping concept. To live it is to transform your life as never before.”

Awaken:
“As I awaken me, I awaken you.”

It’s ALL Inside You:
“…everything you seek, and everything you experience—everything—is inside you. If you want to change anything, you do it inside, not outside. The whole idea is total responsibility. There’s no one to blame. It’s all you.”

It’s About Your Thoughts:
“purpose of life is to be restored back to Love, moment to moment. To fulfill this purpose, the individual must acknowledge that he is 100 percent responsible for creating his life the way it is. He must come to see that it is his thoughts that create his life the way it is from moment to moment. The problems are not people, places, and situations but rather the thoughts of them. He must come to appreciate that there is no such thing as “out there.”

This Wonderful State:
Confusion is that wonderful state right before clarity.”

What Problems Really Are:
“Ho’oponopono sees each problem not as an ordeal but as an opportunity. Problems are just replayed memories of the past showing up to give us one more chance to see with the eyes of love and to act from inspiration.”

You’re in a Symphony:
“It’s like we are in a grand symphony,” Dr. Hew Len explained. “Each of us has an instrument to play. I have one, too. Your readers have theirs. None are the same. In order for the concert to play and everyone to enjoy it, they need to play their part and not another’s. We get into trouble when we don’t pick up our instrument, or we think someone has a better one. That’s memory.”

Intentions vs. Inspiration
“Inspiration is receiving a message from the Divine and then acting on it. Intention works and brings results; inspiration works and brings miracles. Which do you prefer?”

Cleaning Your Internal Programming:
So by saying, “I love you, I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you,” you are cleaning the programs in you that are preventing you from being in the pure state: love. Again, the Divine”

What Stage of Life Are You In? “I went on to explain that there are at least 3 stages to life, beginning with you as a victim, then moving on to you as the creator of your life, and ending—if you’re lucky—with you becoming a servant to the Divine.”

Learn to Love Yourself:
“It turns out loving yourself is the greatest way to improve yourself. And as you improve yourself, you improve your world.”
